GoodRead Giveaways

Let’s talk about Giveaways. Amazon and Goodreads offer two easy methods. GoodRead Giveaways, from my point of view, has an edge on their competition.

Go online and see how they work. Basically, you click on wanting a giveaway and you’re led through a few easy steps. Neither difficult nor particularly different at this point.

However, my understanding is that someone has to pay Amazon for the books. That seems to place authors paying for their own stuff apart from their author discount with their publisher. Lame. On the other hand, it means other people could push your stuff, which would be stellar though admittedly unlikely.

GoodReads, however, does all the work of selecting winners and sends you the winning addresses. Authors and publishers, in other words, can use the system. Authors can sign their stuff if they want to! And, GoodReads has long lists of Giveaways (that I hope to troll from now on) so that more people may be able to enter your Giveaway and become aware of your book.

Win win win. And maybe I can win a few Christmas gifts along the way!

As you probably guessed, please consider this an extended reminder of my own Blessed Giveaway. Three copies are up as rewards and the drawing will be held just after the end of August. So, come on. Spread the news this month! 🙂 GoodRead Giveaways are a good time!
