Demystifying the Proverbs 31 Woman

When I say I am thrilled that LCMS Deaconess Elizabeth Ahlman has another book out, it is an understatement. Her latest release, Demystifying the Proverbs 31 Womanis sure to be worth the effort of getting and digesting.

I already have a copy and am learning a lot.

One of many things I admire about her is that I think she really got an education out of her schooling. (Her MA from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.) Education isn’t automatic anymore as an accompaniment to schooling–it’s an accomplishment and a testament to her integrity, intellect, and devotion to Christ and His theology.

And, let’s face it, isn’t the Proverbs 31 woman a good place for a confessional young Lutheran to start? (I mean as an entryway to studying Scripture from a Lutheran perspective. I also really appreciated Elizabeth’s book on Ruth.) What a stellar topic to delve into during these modern times.

Elizabeth is an author I’d happily recommend to anyone and that is rare praise from me, indeed.

It released a few days ago, so I’m sorry I missed posting on the date. Life drama, blah blah. And, actually and very happily, I’m writing again. More text is flowing than has for me for a while. 🙂 Just not, ahem, on the blog. I’ll presume you understand and support me anyway!

Please check the book out. Consider it for church Bible studies and Christmas lists! I’ll be sure to review it whenever holiday craziness isn’t too great to let me finish it up. (Hmm, I should also check whether I’ve reviewed Ruth, which should go on wish lists, too.)

Happy reading and writing, folks! And, maybe if you need a little inspiration you can take this tip from me and run through some of your old drafts. Seeing bits and pieces you put together, one after another, might help you regain a little confidence and momentum. Momentum, to me, is that mystical something that enables things to finally get done! Whether in the house, in the homeschool, or in my own homework, which is writing. 🙂
