Parker Broaddus

Today’s new-to-us Lutheran author is Parker Broaddus, aka P.S. Broaddus, a former student of my folks! (Seriously, Parker, when I mentioned your name to my mother she was so happy to think about you,  your family, your brother . . . high and fond praise!).

Parker is an author and storyteller writing for middle graders, particularly focused in the fantastical arena. His books are on Amazon, Audible, and elsewhere. In fact, I’m thrilled to say his first book, The Hero’s Curse,  I found on my father’s book shelf! Woo hoo! Here’s hoping I can read it and review it licketty split! AND, his second in The Unseen Chronicles Series, Nightrage Risingis only 99¢ right now!

The Hero’s Curse has 38 reviews, all 4’s and 5’s, which is pretty great! And, this description of The Unseen Chronicles from its Amazon page might really catch the attention of either yourself or your elementary/middle school readers:

A Hero’s Curse is the first novel in The Unseen Chronicles, a fantastical series brimming with fast-paced action, adventuresome mystery and surprising friendships, all propelled by an inventive and unique story concept. If you enjoyed the Gregor the Overlander series, this is the story of a reluctant character (this time a girl) assuming the role of a hero. Like Fablehaven it’s a humorous adventure with colorful characters.

Then, Nightrage Rising, just published last December has 24 positive reviews! (Parker, great job getting so many reviews! You should teach me how! ;))

This looks like good stuff. I’m looking forward to reading them both and recommending them to my own nearly 10 year old and advanced 8 year old. You know, presuming I think she’s ready.

Meanwhile, you can also get the complete series, both books together, on kindle for $3.98. Nice!

  1. Thank you so much for sharing! Those are kind words. I’m thrilled that both books have finished audio production, and are available as audiobooks on Audible.

Looking forward to more adventures here on your blog!
