About Blogging

This January has been a time of mad-multitasking for me. I’m decluttering, recluttering, and generally puttering around every major thought or project I set eyes on. 🙂 I’ve been in Scripture more, writing up a proposal for a finalized children’s text, restructuring our homeschooling & content, and even dabbling into resources about blogging.

Maybe I don’t want to be a blogger! 😉 The things people do to make it as much a business as possible . . . I’m going to try to avoid that. At the same time, I’d love to grow my audience. Any suggestions? On content or spread the word?

By all means pass around my blog to your writer friends. I’d really appreciate it. Still, I want to be in the writing business more than the blogging business, so I’ll make you a deal. I’m happy to encourage, promote, and share some writing stuff along the way. But I’m going to try not to burn out thinking about all the “what ifs” in blogging business. I’ll remain a relative recluse and not put too much pressure on myself, ok?

Meanwhile, I’m really torn about writing conferences. Should I start attending? Ned and I had a big talk about how the twins aren’t babies anymore. We shouldn’t pretend our children are holding us back. Frankly, I suspect my kiddos are pressing me forward! (You should have heard how loudly I was laughing in the grocery store last night, talking with Elizabeth! Oh, man, what a nine-year old!) Still . . . how much can a girl really fit into a schedule? Even if that’s a YEARLY one?!

Networking. How is it done again? 😉

Enough of this vanity blogging! I wish you well with your reading and writing! I’m rootin’ for ya!

PS. January makes me look forward to February! Although at the end of January I’ll learn whether one of my books was accepted or not from a significant publishing house. <Fingers crossed and prayers prayed!) And, well, plans B, C, and D planned, too! 😀

Praying that the publisher is positively disposed towards your work!

  2. Oh my goodness, Mary, get out of my head! 😜 I’ve been thinking about the blogging and the conferences a lot lately, too!
