On the Councils

I wish I were on top of things. But I’m not. So I’ll pretend I’m “creative.” Ha haa! Meanwhile, my find for you today is another gift to the church through Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller: Martin Luther’s On the Councils and the Church.

Approach to Outreach

Somehow I missed this when it came out. (Here’s hoping that means I’m less addicted to the Internet!) Rev. Andrew Richard, the same man who’s putting together the Overview of New Testament Greek Syntax mentioned here, has a Lutheran approach to outreach article/paper/piece that might interest you. 🙂

Lutheran Witness & Portals of Prayer

I’ll try not to sell ya’ on too much this season or any other, but I read the December issue of the Lutheran Witness and was really pleased with it. Advent Devotional Reading

I wasn’t late posting about 2018 Advent Resources, although I did mean to blog today’s titles sooner. This year I thought I’d try to tackle some additional devotional reading, and the two titles are The Soul in Paraphrase: A Treasury of Classic Devotional Poems, edited by Leland Ryken, and With My Own Eyesa third-person retelling of the Gospels by none other than Lutheran bishop extraordinaire Bo Giertz, translated by LCMS Rev. Bror Erickson!

Overview of New Testament Greek Syntax

As of this point, I’m afraid we are not all experts on New Testament Greek. But it doesn’t have to stay that way!!! 🙂 Maybe I jest a little, but Rev. Andy Richard has been teaching a New Testament Greek class and is putting together a reference guide, Overview of New Testament Greek Syntax.

Children’s Christmas Programs

I’m a bit behind posting this due to my unexpected hiatus, but here you go: an example of a super simple Lutheran Christmas program for a small group of kids. I put it together for our own little group, and you’ll see it’s more “put together” than written by me. 🙂 So, come on, folks! Let’s get the Word of God into the mouths of children! And, if you don’t have something, choose goodies for Christmas children’s programs from all the good stuff already graciously given to us! (I like to use the ESV version.)
