Also, keep an eye out for Kloria, who has been putting together some online virtual choir pieces. 🙂 The way it works is that Kirk Meyer, the man behind the awesome children’s hymn books & Kloria Publishing, plays the organ. Those who’d like to sing can press a button to practice along. Then they can record a view of themselves as they sing along to the organ. That gets combined into a musical extravaganza.
It is no surprise that Kloria is continuing to display and excel at its love for Lutheran hymnody! You can find links either to join or to appreciate on their Facebook page and the website. Two hymns are up so far (“All Glory, Laud, and Honor” and “Christ, the Life of All the Living”), and they hope to get a 1,000 strong singing an Easter hymn!
I really find a lot of comfort in it. Thanks be to God for these good folks, sharing resources and reaching out in ways they can! Some Holy Week beauty can comfort our souls as we rely upon the gift of God’s Word to sustain us.
My last but certainly not least is this: Bach’s St. John Passion will be live-streamed from Bach’s Leipzig church on Good Friday. NOTE WELL: this will be on the Bach Archive’s Facebook channel and I’m thinking it will be on GERMANY TIME! Let me know if you figure out what that means for the USA.
