Miss Farrow’s Feathers

Today’s post is a review of Lutheran author Susan Gee Heino‘s book, Miss Farrow’s Feathers

Miss Farrow’s Feathers Review

I read this because I was looking for something a little different. I haven’t read a ton of Regency romance, but it sounded charming enough and pretty funny with a starring role given to a foul-mouthed parrot.

Sure enough, it was funny and not what I expected in a Regency romance. There was cynicism from the start that I didn’t expect, but I warmed up to the book and ended up really enjoying it. The plot gained momentum and excitement, and there was a lot of tongue-in-cheek fun at the expense of a vicar’s daughter in possession of a sexually vulgar piratic parrot.

There was word play and more suggestions that I expected, but that’s just to say that this is just a book in which the author felt comfortable playing with connotations. 🙂
