Now here’s a great release to announce! Led By the Spirit: How Charismatic Is New Testament Christianity, by Victor C. Pfitzner, is now available through CPH with a new introduction and annotated bibliography by Lutheran seminary professor Dr. John Pless.
In the good professor’s words from Facebook, This is a “CPH reprint of an important exegetical response to the Charismatic Movement.”
Victor C. Pfitzner was a long time Professor of New Testament and Principal at the Lutheran School of Theology, North Adelaide, South Australia. He is a contemporary with Dr. John Kleinig, although admittedly I’m not sure whether the two see eye-to-eye on the ordination of women. I believe he also wrote a commentary on the Book of Hebrews, which is a text well-deserving commentary!
I’ve heard he does good academic work as a scholar, and I’ve heard particularly good things about this book.
So, just maybe, you’ll be led by the Spirit to consider this book and look a little further into just how we can understand the early church and New Testament Christianity. 🙂
