Dr. Jack Kilcrease is releasing another book: Justification by the Word: Restoring Sola Fide. Sounds like a great topic to me!
Monthly Archives: August 2022
Lutheran author and professor, Dr. Reed Lessing has released a new book: Delivery Us: God’s Rescue Story in Exodus. It’s described as biblical commentary with devotional material—sounds great! 😀
Stop everything. Because you know what we need right now? (Or at least I do?) A cozy mystery featuring a contented wife of a Lutheran pastor!!!!!!!! I’m THRILLED to announce that I just learned about a new Lutheran author and her very first release: Gayl Siegel released Blood Stained, the first book of the Madalyn Mitchell Mysteries, earlier this month.

Lutheran educator Philip Schaffer has put out another intermediate Latin book: Lacrimae Didonis, Book Two of the Aeneis Pro Liberis series. 🙂
Eagle River Detectives
Lutheran author Katherine H. Klemp has rereleased her first mystery novel, This One’s for You, Dad with a new and improved look (and longer title)! Since she’s removed her previous version, I’ll copy my review on over from the last one.
Amish Jane Doe
Shelley Shephard Gray releases another novel today: Amish Jane Doe, another installment in the Love Inspired Cold Case series.
I’m about halfway through Kristin Lavransdatter. How did I not know about this/these sooner? I first learned about it from a reference by Lutheran author Lars Walker and then again by a pastor.
Folks. If you’re serious readers, consider this one next time you have a serious chunk of time on your hands. It is not light reading, but it is amazing. Just amazing.
I’m without words except for these: I think the ideal way to read this series/trilogy would be on a week-long silent retreat that ends with some sort of support group.
It reminds me of an orthodox novel I read, but this one is . . . more historic, less gross, . . . more real? I don’t know. This is really something.
Today I have two posts for you! Two releases with reviews! 🙂 This post highlights Jody Hedlund‘s latest in the Knights of Brethren series, Enflamed. 🙂 Its review is below and I’ll happily remind you that book 6 is set to release September 13th!
From These Dark Depths
Do you remember my post last summer about Vanessa Rasanen‘s pirate novel, On These Black Sands? I’m THRILLED to announce the release of her Aislins Sea book 2, From These Dark Depths! My review is below.
Ah, my friends, I have had a whirlwind of a summer! Most recently I was able to go on a sister trip to my hometown, Cedarburg, and it was just so wonderful! Now I’m back and eager to get back to work. I can’t promise posts everyday because a) I have a writing project I’ve been meaning to finish for forever now and b) I’m reading Kirstin Lavrensdatter and can hardly look up from it. Still, tomorrow is a double-release day, so please be sure to check out both posts tomorrow. 🙂
My summer isn’t over, though my sister and her family will leave soon from a wonderful almost three-monthly-long visit. Still, my face is turning toward the start of school, much to my children’s chagrin. Ha ha haa. I bet getting back into a schedule will be good for us all.
Happy reading, writing, and all else!
