Wise Words for Each Day

Lutheran pastor and writer Rodney Zwonitzer has released a new book, and I’ve been looking forward to it: Wise Words for Each Day: A Devotional on Proverbs

Here’s Amazon’s blurb about Wise Words for Each Day:

Finding Jesus Christ in Proverbs is truly the unique feature of WISE WORDS FOR EACH DAY: A DAILY DEVOTIONAL ON PROVERBS. Based on Jesus’ own words in Luke 24:25-27, this seldom used biblical word finds Christ, the Wisdom of God (1 Cor. 1:30) in almost all of the Proverbs. Further, the beautiful commissioned cover painting based on Proverbs 8:1 depicts the very biblical chapter that settled the Arian controversy over the divinity of Christ in the Fourth Century A.D.

Uniqueness is also in the format among Proverbs devotionals in that it covers a large portion of Proverbs by matching up Day One of each month with Proverbs Chapter One, Day Two with Proverbs Chapter Two, and so on. Each day also provides a crafted PRAYER and FOR FURTHER STUDY/WORD CONNECT section for those who want to go deeper than the 2-3 minute daily dosage of Wisdom.

The FORWARD is written by award-winning Christian author, The Rev. Dr. Hal Senkbeil, who opines on the devotional’s unique emphasis, “it unpacks each wonderful saying not as a moralism, but yet another dimension of Christ’s virtues given the baptized faithful to apply in their daily lives.”Finding Jesus Christ in Proverbs is truly the unique feature of WISE WORDS FOR EACH DAY: A DAILY DEVOTIONAL ON PROVERBS. Based on Jesus’ own words in Luke 24:25-27, this seldom used biblical word finds Christ, the Wisdom of God (1 Cor. 1:30) in almost all of the Proverbs. Sounds GREAT, doesn’t it?! Yay! GREAT new release!

Also, what a gorgeous cover! I can recognize that as Kelly  Schumacher’s work. I went ahead and looked: sure enough, here’s where you can get a print of “Lady Wisdom Crying Out”! 🙂

Rod Zwonitzer has also written a previous book, Testing the Claims of Church Growth.
