Domitian

I know I’m more than behind on recent Lutheran publications. Still, I come out of my workaholicism to announce a new young adult fantasy romance: Domitian by Grace MacPherson.

Grace MacPherson is the daughter of my friend Marie, whom I respect very much. 🙂 I’m sure this novel is a lovely, talented look at a young woman who struggles to find happiness in a marriage of convenience. Here is the Amazon blurb:

Flavia Octavian is the nineteen-year-old queen of Domitian. Happily married and expecting her first child, life couldn’t be any better.

But when her beloved husband is killed in a skirmish with the northern raiders who have been threatening Domitian for years, her city teeters on the brink of political disaster. Flavia is pushed into a marriage of convenience with her brother-in-law Nathaniel—the last man in the world she wants to marry.

As danger mounts and loyalties are strained to the breaking point, Flavia doesn’t know whom she can trust. Forced to rely on Nathaniel in their desperate attempt to save Domitian, she begins to wonder if she might have a chance of finding happiness after all.

From the author of The King’s Sword comes a heart-warming tale of adventure, sacrifice, and true love. Join Flavia and her friends for a journey you will never forget.

It also appears I missed a 2022 release by the same author: The King’s Sword. Here is the blurb for that one, too:

When Starra and her friends leave her home city of Fencer, they have no idea whether they’ll be successful in finding the legendary king. And when they do, Starra doesn’t know if she can trust him. Join Starra on a journey of friendship, fear, and faith as she seeks to save her city before it’s too late.

The King’s Sword is 130 pages, but Domitian is a full 311 pages. Keep up the great work, Grace! 😀
