Today I’m happy to introduce you to another Lutheran writer, Caleb Hoverson. 🙂 He’s an LCMS writer who has published two books.
Here are a few words from him:
Hello! My name is Caleb Hoverson, and I am the author of The Soul of Samuel, a short story I finished just over a year ago, and God Calls Us to…, a brief devotional I wrote when I was 13. My wife Delie and I, along with our one-year-old daughter, currently live in Fort Wayne, IN, where I am in the M.Div program at Concordia Theological Seminary. I have engaged in creative writing since I was very young, but The Soul of Samuel is my first self-published story. The Soul of Samuel takes a heaven’s-eye perspective on a Christian boy gripped with doubts about his salvation. My hope is that it can not only serve as an enjoyable piece of fiction, but as a comforting resource for those who have experienced struggles similar to the protagonist.God Calls Us to… is the result of a fun project my grandmother and I worked on around the time of my confirmation. It is an A-Z devotional that discusses what God calls Christians to do and be. It is out of print, but I still have additional, complimentary copies if anyone would like to see it.
Always thankful to hear from a writer and I love seminarian families! 😀 He even attended Patrick Henry, where my dad used to be!
Ever wanted something for a crisis of assurance? Such an important topic! The Soul of Samuel may be the short story for you! At only 18 pages, it’s even friendly to those who don’t consider themselves really readers.
