Writing Camp

I can’t believe I almost forgot to post about it! If you’re looking for some extra writing support, this is it: writing camp through Camp NaNoWriMo! Have you heard about it? I’m trying it out for the first time this July. It’s an online deal, with or without cyber-cabinmates, to encourage you to write, write, write!

National Novel Writing Month is a thing. It is also the organization behind this camp. Brilliant! I really hope that, when I do turn to fiction, I can do it alongside a whole lot of others some November!

The thought behind Camp NaNoWriMo is that you can treat it like a cyber-writing retreat, sneaking time away to write your heart out. You pick a word count for a goal and work on whatever suits you. (I’ll be working non-fiction, but, hey, why not write the next great American novel?) Maybe you can encourage your friends to join you in the fun or you can request cabin mates as something of a writers’ group.

Apparently, there are camps in April and July, so July it is! 🙂 Sounds like the best writing camp in location, duration, and, with my cabin mates, company!

Think about it and think about it quick. One month. Can you slice away some extra time for one month to piece together a project for fun and fandom? Can you email your writing group or a couple friends about it?

I suggest having a plan before you go in and then diving into the cool deep end!
