I just noticed in the Concordia Journal Currents that there’s a new collection of essays as a Festschrift for Mark Seifrid, professor at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, titled Always Reforming: Reflections on Martin Luther and Biblical Studies.
Do you remember what a festschrift is? It’s a collection of essays that honor someone, typically by writing on that person’s field and expertise. Always Reforming gathers essays from a variety of denominations, likely friends & coworkers of Dr. Seifrid, to attest to Luther’s prowess and engagement with Scripture.
This is sure to be an interesting read and an encouragement of Luther’s ongoing legacy of emphasizing Scripture alone.
