Jesus stood up. That’s an amazing thing, conjuring a physical reality and strength we can all marvel at. Yet, so often we overlook the God-Man to see various who, what, and hows that make us more comfortable. That’s a shame and the book, Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up: 12 False Christs, is an excellent antidote for all of our own fallen perceptions and tendencies.

Medicine for the Soul
Sometimes I have poetry ideas, taking novel approaches to important religious things and then twisting it in an unexpected way at the end. For instance, my latest: comparing the Lord’s Supper, the medicine of our soul, to medicine that children seek out.

It’s pretty rare to find someone who can make a big time commitment to anything, let alone writing. We may put pressure on ourselves, but juggling hectic schedules isn’t always a personal matter. We may want to write more than anything in the world, but that doesn’t mean we are actually able to find that hour or two. And, what if we don’t feel inspired when we actually have a bit of time on our hands?
