Attitude as Style

The other day I did things that were “extra” good with the kids with an attitude that didn’t match. Sin stinks. Anyway, it struck me that writing is sometimes like that, too, if we just translate attitude as style. Good content and a good project, but the tone spoils the effect. Sigh. Sin.

Pen Names

I just got a tip about another Lutheran writer. Writing under the pen name Dangerosa Jones, these books look like great summer reading! Her latest release is Alignment: A Love Story.

Harder Days

I don’t know why some days are just harder days than others. Granted, we’ve been having basement issues lately, which complicates and frustrates things, and the kids can’t seem to beat a certain bug, but sometimes it is just plain harder for unknown reasons.

Old Folded Notes

The other day I was going through some boxes I got from my folks. Got Time?

I’m smitten with this article on The Busy Person’s Lies. I keep thinking about it. Sometimes I’m affirmed, sometimes condemned, but more often it fills me with a delightful sense of wonder: what if I’ve really got time?

On Books

It’s a dangerous thing to talk about books with writers, but I was asked the other day if I was a book person or just a writing person. I’ve probably thought longer and harder on that question than the person thought I would! So, here is a post sharing a few of my thoughts on books.

Birthday Hint

Happy birthday to me! I have a birthday hint for you. All I want is for you to seriously consider writing an Amazon review. You don’t even have to post it. It certainly doesn’t need to be for one of my books (although they would be most welcome if they’re positive!), but comments and reviews on Amazon or GoodReads are good for something: morale if nothing else.
