Today’s post is another review of a Jody Hedlund book. I’m going to do a few in a row. 🙂 For your pleasure, a review of Beguiled, the second book in The Fairest Maidens series.
Beguiled Review
I just finished up this series, all of which I enjoyed. This one is either my favorite or tied with the first. (Although the third does wrap things up so well!) 🙂
I love that a series about the fairest maidens in the land has an entire book about a veiled woman! Hiding away on the Isle of Outcasts! But even as outcast as she is, it all works for the good. I mean, imagine the imagery: sure, Pearl is beautiful, but when nestled into the Isle she becomes so much more. Clever!
Also, I like how Pearl advances. She may have been cast out when she was younger, but she becomes someone who can’t be tossed aside.
