Hello! How do you feel about free books? Ok, that was the easy question. How do you feel about Facebook video posts? You see, it seems to me, one might accidentally see my face if I did that. 😉 Still, should I give it a try sometime?

Anyway, below is a link to a Facebook video post in which Rev. Tyrel Bramwell hosts a book cover giveaway. Want to win a free copy of The Gift and the DefenderI think you do! 🙂

Two Lutheran Valentine Poems

Happy Valentine’s Day. Here are two Lutheran Valentine poems I whipped up for the occasion, one from a wife, one from a husband. (We’ll also see if condensed versions score any votes at the Sister, Daughter, Mother, Wife‘s annual Valentine Contest.) And, whether you are wed or not, may you ponder the love of Christ for His Bride, the Church, even as it affects us everyday and is memorialized and active in God’s Word and Gifts, on this day and always.

100 Ton Press Call for Stories

It’s election day. Let’s not talk about that. Let’s focus on something less angsty and more opportune! It’s always exciting to hear about open submission opportunities and 100 Ton Press has made such an announcement! In particular, they have a call for stories to be included in an upcoming collection, They Don’t Know I’m a Christian at the Coffee Shop.  Sure sounds like a good thing to think and write about on an election day or any other day. 🙂

Blessed Giveaway

I released a book. Convention hit. Then the National Youth Gathering and the party conventions hit. Initial interest in my latest book may have started to fade away as thoughts scatter and the world wallows in its wicked ways. So, this August let’s a little good news: Let’s have a Blessed Giveaway!

CCLE Essay Contest

I like to think of this blog as a family-friendly place, so I’m happy to pass along writing contests for even our youngest, up-and-coming writers. You might recall I mentioned a homeschooling contest here. This next one, a CCLE Essay Contest, is nice in part because it could be a nice writing exercise for us as well. Want to work on your structure? Want to solidify your arguing lines of defense? Want to jot something down and feel a little free affirmation? Continue reading
