Catching up

Ladies and gentlemen, I feel like it’s been AGES since I last blogged. There is so much I hope to remember and write! Be sure to stay tuned, this week especially! I’ll start catching up here with a little somber something from Australia, where I was visiting my sister and her precious family.

Enjoyable

Enjoyable. We want what we write to be enjoyable, so what, exactly, does that mean?

Write Well

Still reflecting from yesterday, perhaps something is good if it is a gift from God used wisely. I tend to think that sin is a twisting of something good: man is not in essence sin, even though sin has twisted up his every aspect. Are you with me? So, those who are gifted as writers, whether they believe or not, do something good when they write and write well. God’s gift is producing fruit much as a physical tree.

Lutheran Matrix?

I’m sharing a writing idea today, revolving around the concept of a matrix. Lutheran matrix? Ok, many an anti-Lutheran, anti-Christian matrix. We’ll see what you think.

Biblical perspective

Do you ever like to just chew on a perspective? If you’re in such a mood, then read this article by Rev. Wolfmueller. Then, apply it to advice writers are often given: “Show me, don’t tell me” or “Write from the heart.” Consider parallels and differences.

He’s finally moving away from being the mischief maker, much to the answer of my prayers. 🙂 And part of that may be his budding friendship with his three-year-old sister Dorothea. Regretfully, yesterday evening found me easing Dorothea because of a Dorothy/Michael encounter.

Building Faith One Child at a Time

Sometimes you may want to read a book to help stimulate your own thinking. That is, you kind of expect to disagree on things,or maybe you’re just not quite in the mood to read it but you think it’d be good for you. Anyway, you know a book may offer food for thought on the topic. For me, Building Faith One Child at a Time was such a book.

Free to Paraphrase Himself

Have I mentioned that my husband is brilliant? I respect and admire him in so many ways. His latest thought I have to share, although I daresay entire dissertations could be written about this thesis and its consequences: The Holy Spirit is free to paraphrase Himself as He sees fit.
